For Immediate Release
EV smart charger manufacturer and software developer Evnex is celebrating its 1,000th charger installation in Australia.
New Zealand-founded Evnex entered the Australian market in 2023, with its market share growing rapidly.
Evnex Founder and CEO Ed Harvey says while Evnex will remain active in New Zealand the brand is shifting its main focus area to Australia.
“We see a huge opportunity in the Australian market and we have plans to significantly scale up our presence in Australia,” said Harvey.
“It’s an exciting time for us and we’re thrilled to already have more than 1,000 customers in Australia charging cleaner and more affordably by having an Evnex charger.”
The organisation has now installed a total of more than 6,000 smart chargers across Australia and New Zealand and is on track to have installed more than 10,000 by early 2025.
Helping Evnex with its rapid growth plans is Australian private equity firm Adamantem Capital, which has invested in Evnex.
Harvey says the investment is allowing growth at a pivotal time as interest and competition in the electric vehicle market increases.
“This investment is allowing us to expand our footprint across Australia, increase manufacturing efficiencies, and drive innovation through new product development.
“Our mission is to deliver the world’s best home EV charging experience, with the lightest impact on earth and this investment is helping us to do exactly that.”
Evnex is forecasting an additional 7,000 units to be sold over the next year across Australia and New Zealand. The company is the preferred charging partner for renowned brands including Polestar and CommBank.
Harvey says Evnex’s technology is becoming increasingly important as electricity usage grows.
“Energy usage in Australia is growing as more and more households move from gas to electric and purchase electric vehicles.
“Our technology is able to schedule charging for off-peak times, allowing customers to take advantage of preferable electricity rates and reducing the need for fossil fuels to be used in the energy generation process.
“With Australia being one of the largest investors in solar energy in the world, and New Zealand having one of the highest renewable energy mixes in the world, Evnex charging makes so much sense in this part of the globe.
“We’re helping Kiwis and Aussies fuel their cars with clean homegrown energy rather than imported polluting fossil fuels.”
Evnex smart chargers are proudly New Zealand-made, featuring locally-sourced components and assembly. The Evnex Australia office is based in the ClimateTechHub in Sydney.
